This jacket is a little unusual and not your standard find when it comes to the little silk kimono inspired jackets that were being made in Japan during the 1920s for the tourist markets. This one is not 100% perfect but it's too good not to have someone get a few more years of love out of it. It is utterly stunningly and hauntingly beautiful. The cut is soft and easy and more a true jacket in feel then a kimono. It is hand dyed and hand screened, and the print that covers it is an unusual design. It literally weighs ounces and I love the combination of colors. In person the blue is a little softer and more striking. These are fantastic to wear at home, as a light evening topper or even as a dress if you add a silk slip under it. Great overall condition with some notes below to review before buying
Fully lined in a blue tissue silk with no front closure. This items is almost 100 years old and has been worn & loved. There are some discoloration to the lining here and there which looks like color transfer from the outer layer. The silk is strong and stable inside and out so it's just a color issue and not a flaw or weakening to the silk. The outside has no flaws other then the area of sun fading that goes across one sleeve and the shoulder. These all add to the patina and in my opinion are not a detraction, but it is priced to reflect the current condition. It is still completely strong and wearable with care. All made by hand
