Late 1940s or early 1950s unlined rayon crepe dress in jet black. Kimono-cut three-quarter sleeves with notches at the wrists. Notched stand-up neckline. Bust and hip darts. Origami-folded hip peplum lined in acetate. Slim skirt with inverted kick pleat. Closes with not one, but two, metal zippers! A short Conmar zip at the back of the neck with top hook&eye. And a longer, Nabco model that closes in reverse, from top to bottom, along the left side to the peplum hem. The skirt snaps closed beneath the side zip and secures at the waist at either of two hook&eyes. Beautifully made. From the living estate of our friend Mary S.
